Announcing New Project Themes!

The GlobalGiving team is excited to announce a new list of themes—inspired by both the Sustainable Development Goals and the breadth and depth of your work—to categorize your projects on the website. Each project can have one Primary Theme and up to four Secondary Themes, which you can select while editing your project or creating a new one.

When making the transition to the new list, we used our best estimate at which themes would be best for your projects. Please take a few minutes to review the themes of each of your projects and edit as you see fit. You can do this by editing each of your projects individually. If you have any feedback to share about this new list, please fill out this short survey

Prepare For Five Full Days Of Matching This September

Prepare For Five Full Days Of Matching This September

WHAT: The Little by Little Campaign returns this September 14-18! This five-day crowdfunding campaign is designed to help GlobalGiving partners around the world cultivate a robust network of small-dollar donors. This week, all eligible donations up to $50 per unique donor per organization will be matched at 50% during the campaign. Just like last March, matching funds will not run out!

WHY: At GlobalGiving, we run the Little by Little campaign because we know there is power in collective action and we see that the organizations standing on the shoulders of their communities are the ones making the biggest, most positive, and most lasting change this world needs.

WHO: The Little by Little Campaign is exclusively for GlobalGiving Partners, Leaders, and Superstars banked outside of India. Associated active projects and microprojects will be automatically included. The deadline to submit new projects for inclusion in this campaign is Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 5 p.m. ET.

WHEN + WHERE: GlobalGiving’s 2020 September Little by Little Matching Campaign runs from 09:00:00 ET on Monday, Sept. 14, to 23:59:59 ET on Friday, Sept. 18.

Get Ready For Major Gift Fundraising This July

Get Ready For Major Gift Fundraising This July

WHAT: The July Bonus Day is a day to celebrate and encourage large donations! Donations from $100 and up to $1,000 will be matched while $250,000 in matching funds remain this July 15th. The higher the donation, the higher the match! There will also be $30,000 in bonus prizes for most funds raised.

WHY: Most organizations receive the bulk of their funding from a small section of their donors base. We call these donors ‘Major Donors.’  Their support is game changing. This campaign is designed to help you identify, steward, and retain your organization’s most generous supporters and the momentous accomplishments their giving makes possible!

WHO: All GlobalGiving partners are invited to participate and we will automatically include your active projects and microprojects. Whether you’re ready to participate depends on where your organization is at in the process of major donor cultivation!

For organizations that decide to participate, please submit all items that require GlobalGiving approval (new projects, project edits, project appeals + reports) by Friday, July 10.

WHEN + WHERE: The July Bonus Day runs from 09:00:00 a.m. ET to 23:59:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. Fundraising totals, remaining matching funds, and bonus prizes will be displayed on the July Bonus Day leaderboard.

Apply To Participate In World Refugee Week

Apply To Participate In World Refugee Week

WHAT: In honor of World Refugee Day, GlobalGiving will host World Refugee Week June 15 – 20 to bring attention to the millions of people around the world forced to flee their homes, and seek refuge in foreign countries. GlobalGiving will match the first $750 (UPDATED: June 5, 2020) raised by all campaign participants dollar for dollar and there will be $50,000 in bonus prizes.

WHY: At the end of 2019, 50.8 million people were displaced inside their countries due to conflict, violence, and disasters. These millions of children, women, and men have been driven from their homes by conflict, violence, natural disasters, human rights violations, or persecution. What’s more shocking is that one person becomes displaced every two seconds.

WHO: GlobalGiving partners with projects supporting refugee relief efforts are invited to submit an Expression of Interest form by Friday, May 29, 2020, to be considered for the campaign.

For the purposes of this campaign, we’re defining ‘refugee’ as: People around the world forced to leave their homes and seek refuge from conflict, violence, natural disasters, human rights violations, or persecution. Includes refugees, asylum seekers, and Internally Displaced Persons — all people forcibly displaced within and across state borders.

WHEN + WHERE: GlobalGiving’s World Refugee Week runs from 09:00 ET on Monday, June 15, 2020, to 23:59 ET on Saturday, June 20, 2020. Fundraising totals will be displayed on the World Refugee Week leaderboard.
