GlobalGiving Stands With Refugees

GlobalGiving Stands With Refugees

On World Refugee Day, we focus on the millions of people around the world forced to flee their homes to seek refuge

According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, 65.6 million people have been forcibly displaced worldwide. These millions of children, women and men have been driven from their homes by conflict, violence, natural disasters, human rights violations, or persecution.

GlobalGiving partners with nonprofit organizations across the globe that provide life-saving assistance to those who brave perilous journeys in search of protection and humanitarian relief.

This World Refugee Day, Wednesday, June 20th, from 00:01 EDT to 23:59 EDT, GlobalGiving is putting up $100,000 in matching funds to help strengthen the great work its nonprofit partners do to bring much needed relief to displaced communities. Donations to participating projects on this day will be matched at 100% up to $2,500 and all will be eligible to win $2,000 in bonus prizes for breaking two all-time GlobalGiving records.

On June 20th, the GlobalGiving community aims to support the valiant efforts undertaken organizations dedicated to help meet the needs of those who have been forcibly uprooted within or across state borders.

Announcing the 2018 Little by Little Campaign!

Announcing the 2018 Little by Little Campaign!

Here at GlobalGiving we know there’s strength in numbers and that small donations add up to BIG change. That’s why we run the Little by Little Matching Campaign!

Everything about this week-long campaign, from April 9th to 13th,  is designed to help celebrate the power of your crowd. So get ready for GlobalGiving to match donations up to $50 at 50% while the $50,000 in matching funds remain. Last year, funds lasted until the final day of the campaign. What happens this year depends on you!

At the end of the week, there will be $3,000 in bonus prizes for the top five fundraising projects. There will also be a 100% match for new recurring donations started during this week!

If your organization is a Partner, Leader, or Superstar, there is no need to fill anything out – just start planning your strategy and we’ll take care of the rest. Start thinking about who you’ll reach out to – current donors, former donors, prospective donors?

We say, go for all of the above! And, keep in mind, high-dollar donors often to start off as small-dollar donors. Start mapping your networks, recruiting your fundraising advocates, and crafting your thank you plan. It’s so important to treat every donor like a million dollar donor!

Make sure to watch the recorded session of our Little by Little webinar to learn more! As always, if you have a question, you can send us an email at projecthelp@globalgiving.org or give us a call at +1 (202) 232-5784.

#GivingTuesday Rebuild Together: An Exclusive GlobalGiving Matching Campaign

#GivingTuesday Rebuild Together: An Exclusive GlobalGiving Matching Campaign

In these last few months, multiple disasters have taken a brutal toll on millions of people around the world. Hurricane Harvey has submerged neighborhoods in Texas, nearly 400 people have died from earthquakes in Mexico, and hurricanes Maria and Irma have devastated infrastructure and limited access to safe drinking water, fuel, and emergency medical care in the US and the Caribbean.

Fortunately, our amazing nonprofit partners are responding in the face of almost unfathomable destruction by tirelessly bringing relief to those in need. Our partners have worked with local governments in the Caribbean to distribute aid that was clogged at the port, provided fuel for generators so that hospitals could operate in Puerto Rico, and built transitional housing for victims in Mexico.

Given the massive scope of damage, recovery efforts will continue for months and, in some areas, years. Luckily, GlobalGiving nonprofit partners and donors are in it for the long haul. We have seen the inherent goodness of people from every corner of the world, eager to help those in need. #GivingTuesday is the perfect day to capture this wave of generosity and ensure that your organizations can continue to support people in need of long-term recovery.
