Are you looking for a fun and exciting way to engage your donors? If so, GlobalGiving’s 8th Annual Photo Contest is right around the corner!  Each year we have the pleasure of showcasing the amazing impact of our nonprofit partners through the art of photography. This contest is the perfect opportunity to improve your organization’s visual messaging, cultivate stronger relationships with existing donors, and expand your support base of prospective donors.

Each time your photo receives a vote, you a gain a new subscriber to your project report. This is a great way to increase visibility and generate more funds toward your project. Your organization will also have a chance to compete for prizes including $1,000 towards your project and social media promotion! So find your most compelling and vivid photos, add them to your project page, and follow the simple step by step instructions below to enter the contest!

Here at GlobalGiving we believe in the power of stories. And, in today’s digital world, it is more important than ever for nonprofits to be able to both tell and show their stories.

This year the GlobalGiving Video Contest received a record-setting 112 entries! We were thrilled to see your use of this important medium and it was extremely difficult to choose the top five entries — but here we go!

The 2017 grand prize winner for GlobalGiving’s Sixth Annual Video Contest is The Sweethearts Foundation, an incredible nonprofit based in South Africa which provides wheelchairs to men, women, and children in need. Want to find out how they do it? You’ll have to watch their video!

This year, our friends at the Social Impact Media Awards (SIMA) judged the top entries. SIMA is a nonprofit that celebrates social-documentary storytelling of excellence, screens films in communities and  classrooms worldwide, and connects international audiences and organizations  with the best global impact cinema.

Introducing the GlobalGiving Girl Fund

GlobalGiving believes that every girl deserves a chance to realize her full potential, and we know you do too! That’s why we started the GlobalGiving Girl Fund — so we could provide ongoing support to projects that are dedicated to helping women and girls around the world thrive.

The GlobalGiving Girl Fund Campaign is an opportunity for projects focused on women and girls to participate in a two-week fundraising campaign, earn GG Rewards points, and compete for a spot in the 2017 GlobalGiving Girl Fund. Six projects will earn a spot in the fund along with an exclusive banner on their project page and guaranteed funding. Historically, GlobalGiving fund recipients have received up to $1,500 per month.

Every GlobalGiving partner with a project supporting women and/or girls has a chance to compete for one of these six spots! So how do you get started? Fill out this short form by February 24 to join us for the GlobalGiving Girl Fund Campaign! Then, mobilize your donor network and demonstrate your work through an effectiveness cycle to earn a spot in the fund!

Here at GlobalGiving we believe in the power of stories. And, in today’s digital world, it is more important than ever for nonprofits to be able to both tell and show their stories. That is why we are excited to announce our sixth annual Video Contest!

Each year our team has the pleasure of watching your inspiring videos and every year the judging gets harder! In 2017, we’ll select one grand prize winner and four runner-ups to be promoted in GlobalGiving’s outreach to donors.

The grand prize winner will also be featured in GlobalGiving’s monthly donor newsletter which is sent to more than 170,000 subscribers! Past video contest winners have received upwards of $6,000 in donations because of this promotion. And every participant benefits by receiving one GG Rewards point for simply entering the contest!

October was a month of celebrating failure with our third annual Fail Forward Contest! Throughout the month we witnessed the power of reframing failure as an opportunity to make positive change, and we reflected on the benefits of sharing setbacks with donors, internal teams, and local communities. Most importantly, we had the honor of hearing how all of the 2016 Fail Forward Contest participants proudly failed forward. You blew us away!
