The Social Impact Academy is Here!

The Social Impact Academy is Here!

Does your organization create the meaningful change that you intended? What do your constituents have to say about your projects? Are you comfortable telling your organization’s social impact story? And how do you get the support and resources you need to grow your impact and reach even more communities?

This is where the Social Impact Academy comes in! Back by popular demand, this 6-week course will bring together social impact experts and professionals from nonprofits around the world to offer a small cohort of GlobalGiving partners interactive and practical training and support.

The Academy will help you explore different theories of impact measurement and learn about practical tools and resources to design programs for social change, measure impact, engage your community, tell your organization’s impact story, and more!  See below for a complete agenda.

Apply online by Tuesday, May 15th for one of only 45 available spaces—and don’t hesitate to email us at projecthelp@globalgiving.org with questions.

#GivingTuesday Rebuild Together: An Exclusive GlobalGiving Matching Campaign

#GivingTuesday Rebuild Together: An Exclusive GlobalGiving Matching Campaign

In these last few months, multiple disasters have taken a brutal toll on millions of people around the world. Hurricane Harvey has submerged neighborhoods in Texas, nearly 400 people have died from earthquakes in Mexico, and hurricanes Maria and Irma have devastated infrastructure and limited access to safe drinking water, fuel, and emergency medical care in the US and the Caribbean.

Fortunately, our amazing nonprofit partners are responding in the face of almost unfathomable destruction by tirelessly bringing relief to those in need. Our partners have worked with local governments in the Caribbean to distribute aid that was clogged at the port, provided fuel for generators so that hospitals could operate in Puerto Rico, and built transitional housing for victims in Mexico.

Given the massive scope of damage, recovery efforts will continue for months and, in some areas, years. Luckily, GlobalGiving nonprofit partners and donors are in it for the long haul. We have seen the inherent goodness of people from every corner of the world, eager to help those in need. #GivingTuesday is the perfect day to capture this wave of generosity and ensure that your organizations can continue to support people in need of long-term recovery.

Announcing GlobalGiving’s Year-End Campaign!

Announcing GlobalGiving’s Year-End Campaign!

Year-end giving is the biggest fundraising season for many nonprofits all over the world. Nearly one third of all annual giving occurs in December alone, while 12% happens in just the last three days of the year. GlobalGiving is here to make sure this is your strongest year-end fundraising season yet!!

GlobalGiving’s 2017 Year-End Campaign will offer $10,000 in total prize money! Prizes vary in size and will be awarded throughout the Year-End Campaign as well at the end of the campaign. Will your organizations be the first to get 50 donors? Raise the most dollars? Get spotlighted for being in the top 5% of participants? We certainly hope so!

All Active Partner, Leader, and Superstar projects will be automatically included in the campaign and on the leaderboard. See Terms and Conditions below for complete prize breakdown and eligibility.

We’ll also be giving away GlobalGiving Certificates for fundraising success, GlobalGiving homepage time, and customized social media graphics. See Terms & Conditions below to find out how you can win!

Lastly, throughout the whole campaign new recurring donations up to $200 per donor per project will get an additional 100% match on the initial donation (as long as it remains active for three months.)

Now is a great time to start preparing. Check out the Year-End Fundraising page and reach out with any questions!

GlobalGiving welcomes India to the #GivingTuesday family

GlobalGiving welcomes India to the #GivingTuesday family

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving, celebrated for 6 years now, in more than 98 countries, fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. #GivingTuesday connects diverse groups of individuals, communities and organizations around the world for one common purpose: to celebrate and encourage giving. GlobalGiving has been involved with #GivingTuesday since it’s inception. This year, for the very first time, India is launching its own #GivingTuesdayIndia on Tuesday, October 3rd 2017 – the Tuesday of #DaanUtsav.

What is #DaanUtsav? (translates to ‘Festival of Giving’)

Since 2009, India has been celebrating #DaanUtsav, its Joy of Giving week from Oct 2-8, starting with Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday. In 2016, for the very first time, GlobalGiving celebrated #DaanUtsav in collaboration with our Indian platform partner Impact Guru, and supported our Indian partners to celebrate their local week of giving. GlobalGiving is excited to cheer our Indian partners on as the country celebrates its very first #GivingTuesdayIndia. A number of organisations and individuals are joining the movement by signing up on the GivingTuesdayIndia portal, stating how they plan to give on October 3, you could do it too.
